Peter M. Cordovano, P.C. accepts most cases on a contingency fee, so that clients need not have to pay out-of-pocket for services (NYS workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, social security disability, etc.). However, there are times when out-of-pocket expenses for legal fees are necessary. This is referred to as a retainer fee, which is necessary in particular legal matters (criminal defense, retirement system disability, real estate, etc.). These types of fees are based upon the time involved, and the nature and difficulty of the work, together with a judgment of the value of the services conveyed to clients. Mr. Cordovano maintains professional memberships in the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA); New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA); Colombian Lawyers of Rockland County; Ulster County Bar Association (UCBA); Dutchess County Bar Association (DCBA); National Association of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR).
