HAVE YOU SUFFERED AN INJURY ON THE JOB OR IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT?

Are you being denied NYS Workers' Compensation, NYS Disability Retirement or Social Security Disability Benefits?

Do you sometimes feel that it would be easier to turn coal into a diamond, rather than to get proper medical treatment, to collect lost wages, to deal with insurance companies, or get answers from doctors?

Peter M. Cordovano, P.C. pledges to relieve you of the frustration & intimidation that comes from being bogged down in the system, and from dealing with insurance companies and medical providers.

Don't Go it Alone!

Peter Mariano Cordovano, Esq. was born in Manhattan NY, raised in the Astoria section of Queens, NY , and now resides in New Paltz, NY. Mr Cordovano received a Bachelor's degree in the pre-medical sciences from Manhattan College in 1981, and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center in 1986.

Mr. Cordovano initial legal experience was with the Dutchess County Public Defender's Office in Poughkeepsie, NY, the New York State Attorney General's Office also in Poughkeepsie, NY, Finkelstein, Kaplan, Levine, Gittlesohn & Tetenbaum in Newburgh, NY , and Anthony M. Barraco, P.C. of Highland, N.Y.

Those who know Mr. Cordovano appreciate the thorough and focused preparation of his cases. One of Mr. Cordovano's greatest assets is knowing when to talk, and perhaps more importantly, knowing when to listen. Mr. Cordovano is personable, easy to talk to, and his clients enjoy his frankness. One of Mr. Cordovano's trademarks is that he conscientiously returns all telephone calls the same day in most cases, and often within just a few hours. Mr. Cordovano is well practiced in computer-assisted research, and his computer skills are utilized to reduce client costs, to expedite workflow, and to accomplish all case tasks as completely and as quickly as possible.

Peter M. Cordovano, P.C. accepts most cases on a contingency fee, so that clients need not have to pay out-of-pocket for services (NYS workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, social security disability, etc.). However, there are times when out-of-pocket expenses for legal fees are necessary. This is referred to as a retainer fee, which is necessary in particular legal matters (criminal defense, retirement system disability, real estate, etc.). These types of fees are based upon the time involved, and the nature and difficulty of the work, together with a judgment of the value of the services conveyed to clients.

Mr. Cordovano maintains professional memberships in the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA); New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA); Colombian Lawyers of Rockland County; Ulster County Bar Association (UCBA); Dutchess County Bar Association (DCBA); National Association of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR).

Mr. Cordovano is in service to the New York State Injured Workers Bar Association as an executive board member (IWBA); Ulster County Legislature as a Board of Ethics member; Third Judicial District as a judicial delegate. Mr. Cordovano also maintains an active role in several community endeavors and associations. He particularly enjoys, and avidly supports, little league baseball in New Paltz, NY.

Mr. Cordovano's other memberships include the Southern Ulster Chamber of Commerce and the Alpha Phi Delta Alumni Association of Manhattan College (APD). He is also a former board member of the Ulster County Bar Association (two terms), and has been a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA) & American Bar Association ( ABA ).
