The services of Peter M. Cordovano, P.C. can be retained on either a "contingency fee" or a “retainer fee" basis.
The “contingent fee” is commonly used when representing injured people. Instead of billing on an hourly basis, Peter M. Cordovano, P.C. would receive a percentage of an injured person’s benefits, settlement, or trial award. If there is no recovery, there is no fee owed. This is a rare instance for Peter M. Cordovano, P.C., as Attorney Cordovano will not accept a case if in his judgment, either the facts or the law or both would preclude same.
A “retainer fee” is utilized in cases involving criminal defense, retirement system disability, real estate, etc (ethical codes prohibit contingency fees in criminal cases). The retainer fee is based upon many factors including the time involved, the nature and difficulty of the work, and the value of the services rendered.
